In 2023, the Viles & Beckman Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established by Michael Beckman, Kayla Grayson, and Marcus Viles with the mission of “empowering young minds and illuminating futures.” Tragically, Marcus Viles passed away shortly after the foundation’s inception. To continue Marcus’ dream of establishing a scholarship program, the Viles & Beckman Foundation awarded the inaugural Marcus W. Viles Community Growth Scholarship shortly after his passing. This scholarship program ensures that their local schools and communities remain strong with supportive environments that uplift and sustain their citizens.
The Marcus W. Viles Community Growth Scholarship awards one college student $2,500 yearly. Any current and incoming college, university, and graduate student, regardless of course study, is eligible to apply. Award information and essay topics can be found on the foundation's website. The window for this year’s award has closed, and the foundation will announce this year’s winner very soon.
