Advocate Cares teamed up with Monroe Harding to make Halloween goodie bags.
Monroe Harding is a nonprofit organization in Nashville that provides resources for youths in foster care, foster care families, and those who have aged out of foster care.
Many foster care programs end when the child ages out of foster care at 18, or if they do have an “adult foster care program,” they typically only go to age 21. Monroe Harding’s Independent Living Program provides an inexpensive but safe place for youth aging out of foster care to live as they transition into adulthood, all the way up to age 26.
Our volunteers wrote Halloween cards and stuffed 40 goody bags with snacks, candy, and Halloween toys. These goody bags will go to youths who are in the foster care system. We hope they will bring a smile to their faces.
We are thankful for the opportunity to volunteer with Monroe Harding and to be able to give back to our community. Thank you also to all of our wonderful volunteers.
