Online networking is an important way to connect with referral sources and potential clients. Regularly checking your online connections on LinkedIn is a great way to continue to build networking relationships. According to LexBlog, here are some ways to expand your LinkedIn connections.
Refresh Your Profile
Review your LinkedIn profile and make sure all of the information is up to date. Consider adding a profile summary and a headline that reflects your career and education. Make sure your profile picture is a recent professional photo. You might even want to use the picture that’s used on your bio page from your firm’s website. Find ways to update your profile by adding recent articles, video interviews, or podcasts that you have been part of. This can show your expertise but also show that you are eager to share your knowledge.
Posting
Try to regularly post on LinkedIn. Even posting once or twice a week will put your profile in front of more people. Make sure you are sharing relevant content to your law firm practice or your legal expertise. You can also consider sharing blogs from your law firm’s website or even sharing content from your peers.
Stay in Touch
When sending LinkedIn connections, make sure they are personalized connections. People will be more likely to accept your connections if they are personalized. Congratulate your connections on their milestones from work anniversaries, promotions, or birthdays. When you receive notifications about their milestones, consider sending them a private message about their achievement. Glance at their profile to see if they have posted anything recently you can mention in your message.
