According to WTOP News, ”Honda has reached an $85 million settlement with multiple states over allegations that it hid safety failures in the airbags of certain Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the U.S.”
The faulty airbags were designed and manufactured by Takata Corp. and led to around 100 million automobile recalls worldwide. Their airbag inflators have caused at least 25 people to be killed and over 300 people to be injured.
The Honda settlement will ensure that Honda replaces the defective airbags that are still on the roads and informs the public in the future about potentially dangerous defective parts.
